Night Parade: A Yokai Study

Night Parade is a study of presence—of what lingers just beyond immediate understanding.

Rooted in Japanese folklore, this collection approaches yokai not as spectacle, but as quiet co-inhabitants of the world. They reside in the in-between: where objects take on spirit, where shadow carries form, where something felt precedes what is seen.

Each garment functions as a moving panel. Silhouettes are held in restraint, emerging through contrast against layered landscapes. The viewer is not shown everything at once. Instead, the eye is invited to wander, to notice, to return—mirroring the way yokai reveal themselves over time.

This study begins at the threshold.

An opening gesture into an ongoing procession. Lantern light, softened edges, passing forms—an atmosphere that suggests rather than declares. What first appears unfamiliar gradually settles into recognition.

Night Parade does not seek to explain.
It allows you to encounter.
